Biography —
As Curator for Global Indigenous Art and Lifeways, Ryan is responsible for facilitating the care, study, and display of the Global Indigenous Arts collection at the Spencer. His research focuses on the art and archaeology of the Andes and the Amazon, and he has taught anthropology and museum studies at institutions including Skidmore College. Ryan has NAGPRA and repatriation experience, most notably as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Illinois, where he also helped with the reinstallation of the Ancient Andean Art Gallery at the Krannert Art Museum. Ryan received his PhD in anthropology from Yale University.
