Biography —
Chelsea Brennan is a MA student in the Museum Studies Program at the University of Kansas. Her research focuses on medical history and how sensitive topics such as death and disease are handled critically in the museum sphere. She also has a love for small museum institutions, and currently works as the acting Collections Manager at the Vaile Mansion in Independence, Missouri. Through this position, Chelsea is actively working to bring the small museum up to modern collections standards defined by AAM, as well as create better working relationships between volunteers, city representatives, and the Independence community as a whole.
In the future, Chelsea hopes to continue her work with collections management and conservation, hopefully within a medical museum or institution. She is always ready to dive in to the more "macabre" side of museum practice, and loves a good haunted museum tour when she can find one!
