HOW TO SUBSCRIBE TO AND USE MUSE-L

To send a message to the list, so that everyone gets it, send your message to: MUSE-L@ku.edu

To send a command to the list processor (*not* to all the members of the list), create a mail message which consists of a single line (a command, shown below) and send it to: listproc@ku.edu

It is *very* important that you understand the difference between the two addresses described above. Choose the address you're sending to carefully!

Here are the most common ListProc commands:

Subscribe to the list: sub MUSE-L firstname lastname

Stop your subscription: unsub MUSE-L

Stop messages temporarily (see Restart below): set MUSE-L mail postpone

Restart messages after postponing them: set MUSE-L mail ack

Receive messages in digest form (usually all messages for a day lumped in to one big message delivered at the end of the day): set MUSE-L mail digest

Discontinue receiving messages in digest form: set MUSE-L mail ack

Find out how your subscription is set up (postponed, digest, etc.): query MUSE-L

Get information about a list: info MUSE-L

Get help about using listproc (actually not all that helpful): -help
